Modern science, sponsored by big corporations have skimmed ideas, bottled them in pills and syrups and claim break through. Use of herbs, as simple as cucumber to treat the skin around the eyes is a common knowledge in India. Obviously, there have been more exotic formulations known which found clientele in the wealthy.
